New York Secretary of State

The Office of the Secretary of State was established in 1778, making it, other than the Offices of Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the oldest agency in the administration of New York State government.

More than 650,000 individuals are licensed through the Department. The Office of Business and Licensing Services interacts extensively with the state's business community.
