Ohio Business Development Coalition hopes to boost business formation

A study from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates sustained business formation rates will be critical to recovering the economy. Officials in Ohio are not taking any chances that their state will lag behind.
The Ohio Development Coalition is creating opportunities for entrepreneurs interested in business incorporation to connect with angel investors in the region. The Enterprise Appalachia forum provides prospective business owners with information about the East Central Ohio Tech Angel Fund as well as information on the best locations in Ohio to start a business.

Ed Burghard, executive director for the OBDC, says that most entrepreneurs find that securing business capital is one of the most challenging aspects of new business development in the state. “With organizations like the East Central Ohio Tech Angel Fund, the challenge is less daunting for entrepreneurs starting business in Ohio’s Appalachian Region.”

Business people in the region may find these resources make it easier to find funders. For those who don’t have access to such services, business incorporation may be a good way to increase an enterprise’s attractiveness to investors.
